A lad’s Lunch With Favor!

A London editor submitted to Winston Churchill for approval
a list of all those who had been Churchill’s teachers.
Churchill returned the list with this comment: ” You have
omitted to mention the greatest of my teachers-my mother”

This year 13 May 2007, again we set aside our time to pause
for a season of appreciation and Thanksgiving to God Our
Father for ordaining You as His mother of a child in this
earth. Without Mom, none of us would have been delivered
to the purpose of life.

We are grateful for You enduring the pain of our birth, and
experiencing the joy of your holding us in Your arms the very
first time. You were the first to feel us move about in your
body and the first on earth to give us a relationship and a
bond of human life.

We are grateful for your nursing us, holding our hand when
we were afraid, fixing our food to eat, patching our torn
clothing, making sure that we learned to develop solid
content of character, be respectful of other people, to pray
for our neighbors, and to know God for ourselves.

Personally beyond all of that, after Jesus Christ as my
Teacher, I will have to concur with Winston Churchill, my
mother was my greatest teacher.

I adore my mother Ellen, because she taught me that character
is the only thing I will take with me into eternity with God.
She taught me not to grow up hating other people because of
the color of their skin. In other words, love your neighbors
as You love yourself.

The content of their character is the only way You can really
know another person. In other words, the fruit of their life
will tell You who they really are.

She taught me to pray and have trust in God, because we can only
really become ONE in Christ. A household divided cannot stand.
She said remember, It’s a narrow way, and few will find it.

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the
way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many
who enter through it.

Now my dear mother Ellen, has been at home with the Lord since
I was 21 years of age, and I thank God Almighty for teaching
mother the values she shared with me about Our Lord God and
about loving my fellowman.

I can still remember how she use to cook meals for the Hobos
that drifted through our hometown. I was a little boy but
she taught me that there is value in every human life for
the glory of God. I can remember that Mother and my Grandmother
were both praying women. I am alive today because God chose
to answer their prayers. I thank God for a praying mother.

Mothers, hold Your heads up and keep Your hands stretched
out toward God, a child will never forget a mother’s love.
You are our first teacher and God has blessed You to be His
beautiful garden where he plants the seeds of life and brings
man his completeness before Our Almighty God.

Praise God for woman, because without You being our Mother
none of us would be reading this note of encouragement.
We salute You on Mother’s Day, 13 May 2007, the whole world
is grateful for You. Thank You for showing us God’s Love!
